Description:
Celebrate the start of spring with a maple syrup pancake brunch! The event will be hosted by the Polish Mission of Orchard Lake Schools, West Bloomfield Parks, and the Greater West Bloomfield Historical Society. Guests will see a historical demonstration of turning sap into syrup over an open fire, learn about the benefits of maple trees in our ecosystem, and enjoy a hot breakfast of flapjacks and bacon, topped with local maple syrup. The event also includes: hands-on tree tapping, maple sugaring history, Native American crafts & history, and an interactive nature display.
Special tours for scout groups are 3:00 and 4:00 pm. Outdoor tours last about 45 minutes. Please dress for the weather, and be prepared to walk on unpaved, slightly uneven terrain.
Advance registration is required. This is a family program, so please register ALL adults AND children. The registration deadline is 7:00 pm on Monday, March 4th.
